3 out of the top 5 cryptocurrencies are centralized. This is not what crypto is abou
<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Top 5 cryptocurrencies by market cap.</p> <ol> <li>Bitcoin (BTC)</li> <li>Ethereum (ETH)</li> <li>Binance Coin (BNB)</li> <li>Tether (USDT)</li> <li>Solana (SOL)</li> </ol> <p>Out of these 5 only 2 are decentralized - Bitcoin and Ethereum.</p> <p>The other 3 are centralized - Binance Coin, Tether and Solana.</p> <p>When Satoshi created Bitcoin, I’m pretty sure this not what he would’ve wanted. He wanted a decentralized peer-peer payment system. </p> <p>Later, Vitalik used its technology to create a smarter network. (Doesn’t mean better).</p> <p>Decentralization is so important due to so many reasons - the main one being freedom.</p> <p>At any moment centralized cryptocurrencies can suspend transfers or create 100 million more tokens making your stack worthless.</p> <p>Cryptocurrency is a way for a decentralized financial system.
