Whats the best way to save your recovery phrase in the event of an oh shit moment?

This is for those of us who use an exchange, yes it's a thing.

Curious as to what the easiest and safest place to store the very long random recovery phrase, better to do it soft copy or hard copy?

Is it a bad idea to send it to an email and store it there if the email is set up with 2FA? Seems like it would be a quick way to retrieve it should it ever be needed. Or is this not a good idea and we should all avoid the cloud as much as possible and just write it down?

Any safe sites to store this online? I'm also wondering of soft copy is a bit safer because you can't lose it, but I guess it can get hacked.

What is the safest and easiest way to store this shit?!

Edit: a lot of great responses here on how to handle the situation!! Definitely going to look at the offline hard copy method to save my precious crypto in the event of an oh shit fuck moment!!

submitted by /u/CryptoKeeper808
[link] [comments]Kind Regards R
